Rockyyy J, composer/song producer
​
Rockyyy J (Ruoqi Jin) is a film composer and music producer dedicated to bridging cultures through energetic, Hollywood-style music. With a strong foundation in both classical training and contemporary production, she creates trend-forward, danceable music that connects emotionally and physically with audiences. Her work spans K-pop, hip-hop, and film scoring, all unified by a vibrant, cross-cultural voice.

She recently released her first K-pop instrumental EP, Green Delusion, as well as Harmony Tails, an environmental music therapy album for dogs, both available on platforms including Spotify and Apple Music. Rockyyy has collaborated with film producers Mohamed Sultan and Jiapeng Xiang at the Maryland Institute College of Art and has worked as an intern composer for companies including NetEase Cloud Music. She also assists Dazhou Jin at Beijing Yichen Culture Media Co., Ltd., where she contributes to recording sessions and organizes the music library for film and television productions.
Currently pursuing her Master of Music in Screen Scoring at the University of Southern California, Rockyyy earned her Bachelor of Music in Music for New Media from the Peabody Institute, studying under Thomas Dolby, Chris Kennedy, and Dodd Colton. She also holds a B.A. in Economics from Johns Hopkins University.

Beyond her work as a composer, Rockyyy is a dancer and choreographer. She is the Artistic Director of SLAM, Johns Hopkins University’s premier hip-hop dance group, and a member of KPM, an award-winning K-pop dance cover team. She has choreographed for SLAM for over four years and teaches beginner hip-hop dance classes in China, reflecting her commitment to creativity in both music and movement.
